Oil marketing companies have increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders, with the 19-kg cylinder now retailing at Rs 1,740.50 in Delhi, marking a Rs 49 rise effective today.
Domestic LPG cylinders for household cooking, however, remain untouched. The 14.2-kg cylinder continues at the existing price, providing relief to millions of home consumers across the country.
This price revision is part of the routine monthly adjustment by oil companies, which factor in global crude oil rates, exchange rate fluctuations, and domestic distribution costs. Commercial LPG, used extensively in hotels, restaurants, and catering businesses, is particularly sensitive to these adjustments.
Domestic users have been shielded from this hike, as oil marketing companies continue to maintain the price of household LPG cylinders, a key measure to protect consumers from sudden spikes in cooking fuel costs.
LPG prices in India are revised at the beginning of every month, reflecting international energy trends, currency movements, and domestic logistics and supply considerations. Over the past year, fluctuations in global crude oil and LPG supply have prompted periodic adjustments, impacting commercial usage more than household consumption.
The hike comes at a time when businesses are also monitoring broader economic trends, including the Union Budget 2026, which may influence energy policies and subsidies in the months ahead.
