Nifty 5800 Call adds 19.2 lakh shares in Open Interest

Nifty Open Interest PCR was down to 0.94 from 1.01. Nifty 5800 Call added 19.2 lakh shares in Open Interest while Nifty 5300 Put added 1.6 lakh shares in Open Interest.

FIIs were net buyers of Rs 154 crore in Index Options; which open interest (OI) was up by 63584 contracts. They were net buyers of Rs 438 crore in Stock Futures; which OI was up by 7528 contracts.


Nifty Open Interest PCR was down to 0.94 from 1.01. Nifty 5800 Call added 19.2 lakh shares in Open Interest while Nifty 5300 Put added 1.6 lakh shares in Open Interest.


Infosys Technologies tanked 5% on disappointing Q3 numbers. Its OI was up by 5% and delivery volume increased at 12.2 lakh equity shares as against 6.8 lakh. Delivery based selling and fresh shorts were seen in stock yesterday. Call writing was seen at 3300.


Fresh shorts were seen in SBI. The stock was down 4%; its OI was up by 6% and delivery volume declined at 9 lakh shares versus 11 lakh.


Fresh shorts and delivery based selling were seen in SAIL. The stock tanked 3%; its OI was up by 9% and delivery volume jumped at 16 lakh shares versus 11 lakh.


Delivery based selling and unwinding were seen in HPCL. The stock tumbled 5.3%; its OI was down by 2% and delivery volume went up at 4 lakh shares versus 2.8 lakh.

However, delivery based buying and long buildup were seen in Ambuja Cements. The stock was up 2.6%; its OI was up by 3% and delivery volume increased at 7.8 lakh shares versus 2.2 lakh.
