Nifty Future shed 2.9 lakh shares in Open Interest

FIIs were net buyers of Rs 236 crore and DIIs were net buyers of Rs 96 crore in the cash market on March 22, as per provisional data available on NSE. FIIs have net bought Rs 812 crore in the F&O market.

FIIs were net buyers of Rs 1,664 crore in Index Futures and net buyers of Rs 127 crore in Stock Futures. However, FIIs were net sellers of Rs 999 crore in Index Options on March 22.

NSE F&O open interest (OI) was down by Rs 147 crore at Rs 1.42 lakh crore.

F&O cues

Huge unwinding was seen in options. Total Futures' OI was up by Rs 910 crore while total Options OI down by Rs 1,057 crore.

Total Stock Futures added 1.6 crore shares in OI. Nifty Future shed 2.9 lakh shares in OI.

Mifty Open Interest PCR was unchanged at 1.13. Total Put shed 11 lakh shares while call shed 10.6 lakh shares in open interest.

Highest OI outstanding was seen at 5400 put, 5300 put, 5500 call and 5700 call.

Nifty 5400 put added 9.03 lakh (13%) shares in Open Interest while Nifty April 5700 call added 4.4 lakh (34%) shares in Open Interest.

Nifty 5100 put added 2.20 lakh (4%) shares in Open Interest while Nifty April 5400 call added 2 lakh (24%) shares in Open Interest.

Nifty April 5100 put added 1.87 lakh (20%) shares in Open Interest. Nifty 5500 call shed 12 lakh (14%) shares in Open Interest while Nifty 5000 put shed 11 lakh (17%) shares in Open Interest.

Nifty 5600 call shed 6 lakh (7%) shares in Open Interest and Nifty 5300 call shed 3 lakh (13%) shares in Open Interest.

Nifty 5200 put shed 3 lakh (5%) shares in Open Interest. India VIX was down by 2.63% at 25.21. Orchid, Videocon and Suzlon are in F&O curb.
