E-commerce major Flipkart on February 9 announced the appointment of Vipin Kapooria as vice president, business finance, marking his return to the company, alongside the appointment of Yogita Shanbhag as vice president, human resources.
Moneycontrol, in December 2025, exclusively reported that Vipin Kapooria, then chief financial officer of Blinkit — the quick commerce arm of Eternal (formerly Zomato) — had quit from his role just about a year after taking charge and was likely to rejoin Flipkart.
Kapooria, a chartered accountant with over 19 years of experience, most recently served as CFO of Blinkit, where he joined in late 2024. He has previously spent multiple stints at Flipkart in senior finance roles and has also held leadership positions at OYO and Yum! Brands.
In his new role, Kapooria will lead business finance across all categories at Flipkart, working closely with business teams on financial planning, cost discipline and operational metrics.
“It is great to return to Flipkart at a time when the company is scaling its businesses by institutionalizing strong financial discipline, operational rigor, and a foundation for long-term growth,” Kapooria said.
Alongside Kapooria’s appointment, Flipkart said Yogita Shanbhag has joined as vice president, human resources, and will lead the HR function for the company’s OneTech business unit, which supports its technology and product operations.
Shanbhag brings over two decades of experience, having worked at Juniper Networks and Wipro. Most recently, she was involved in scaling Juniper’s India operations into its largest global excellence centre, with a focus on talent strategy, organisational design and employee engagement.
“As organisations scale, building strong leadership, culture, and people systems becomes increasingly important,” Shanbhag said.
Commenting on the appointments, Seema Nair, chief human resources officer at Flipkart, said the additions strengthen the company’s financial and people foundations and support its long-term growth priorities.
Flipkart’s businesses include its core marketplace, Myntra, Cleartrip, Flipkart Wholesale and super.money.
