Trading on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the BSE will remain closed on Tuesday on account of Holi celebrations.

According to the holiday calendar issued by the exchanges at the start of the year, March 3 is the first trading holiday in the month of March, resulting in a truncated four-day trading week.

On the day, there will be no trading in equity, equity derivatives, securities lending and borrowing, currency derivatives and electronic gold receipts segments. There will also be no settlement of funds and securities.

In March, markets will observe a total of three trading holidays. After Holi, the next market holiday will fall on March 26, Thursday, on the occasion of Shri Ram Navami. Trading will again remain closed on March 31, Tuesday, on account of Shri Mahavir Jayanti.

November 08, 2026, will be a trading holiday on account of Diwali Laxmi Pujan. Muhurat Trading will be conducted on that day. Timings of Muhurat Trading shall be notified subsequently through a circular, the NSE said.

Meanwhile, commodity markets at the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) will remain closed for the morning session from 9 am to 5 pm on Tuesday. Trading will resume in the evening session from 5 pm to 11:30 pm or 11:55 pm, as applicable.
