Benchmark indices ended on a negative note on May 29

sensex Benchmark indices extended fall to fourth straight session on May 29. At close, Sensex was down 667 points or 0.8 percent to 74,502 and Nifty was down 183 points or 0.8 percent to 22,704. The market breadth was negative as around 1,494 shares advanced, 1,864 declined, and 76 were unchanged.

Campus Campus Activewear | CMP: Rs 294 | Shares of the footwear firm skyrocketed over 17 percent after the company reported strong earnings for the quarter ended March 2024. Post the earnings release, Motilal Oswal retained its ‘buy’ call on the stock with a target price of Rs 295. JM Financial also retained a 'buy' rating on the stock, but cut the target price to Rs 295 per share.

Suzlon Energy Suzlon Energy | CMP: Rs 46 | Shares of the company gained 5 percent buoyed a 551.25-megawatt wind power project for the Aditya Birla Group in Gujarat and Rajasthan and Nuvama initiating coverage with a 'buy' call on the counter citing positive growth prospects.

IRCTC IRCTC | CMP: Rs 1,044 | Shares of railway PSU slumped 3.5 percent on May 29 after the company's topline and bottomline for the fourth quarter missed Street estimates. Its net profit in Q4FY24 rose 2 percent year-on-year to Rs 284 crore on higher ticket sales, while revenue rose 20 percent YoY to Rs 1,154.8 crore.

PNB Housing Finance PNB Housing Finance | CMP: Rs 734 | The stock of this housing financier slumped over 6 percent after around 2.7 percent equity changed hands via block deal on May 29.

stock Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail | CMP: Rs 300 | The stock of this apparel and fashion retailer rose over 5 percent after brokerages turned positive on the counter amid improved operational performance in the March-ended quarter.

NBCC NBCC India | CMP: Rs 142 | The stock of this construction company rose as much as 5 percent after the company's profit rose 24 percent on-year to Rs 141 crore in Q4FY24, while revenue zoomed 43 percent YoY to Rs 4,025 crore.

MTAR Technologies MTAR Technologies | CMP: Rs 1,844 | MTAR Tech shares declined 10 percent in trade after the defence player reported a sharp fall in net profit for March qaurter. The company announced 53.4 percent decline in Q4 consolidated net profit at Rs 4.9 crore as against Rs 10.4 crore in the year-ago period.

Concord Biotech Concord Biotech | CMP: Rs 1,450 | Pharma firm Concord Biotech's shares scaled 4 percent after Kotak Institutional Equities upgraded the stock to 'add' as the brokerage sees further scope for margins to expand. "Primed with its proficiency in the high entry barrier fermentation API segment, strong client connects and robust execution track record, Concord is in a sweet spot," said Kotak.

Paytm Paytm | CMP: Rs 359 | Shares of One97 Communications, which owns the fintech company Paytm, were locked in the 5 percent upper circuit on May 29 on reports that Adani Group may acquire a stake in Paytm. However, the company later clarified that the news item is speculative and the company is not engaged in any discussions in this regard.

Amara Raja Amara Raja Energy & Mobility | CMP: Rs 1,218 | Shares pared all losses to trade over 2 percent lower on May 29, a day after the company declared its fourth quarter results. During the quarter, Amara Raja reported 61.4 percent year-on-year (YoY) jump in net profit at Rs 230 crore, while its revenue from operations climbed 19.5 percent to Rs 2,908 crore as against Rs 2,433.2 crore in the year-ago period.
