Year-end target for Sensex stands at 20,800: Citigroup

Aditya Narain of Citigroup said their year-end target for the Sensex stood at 20,800. "We believe a rate-cyclical biased portfolio will drive outperformance."

Here are experts equity calls for the day on how the markets are expected to trade:

Michael Kurtz, Nomura: The combination of bullish short-term technicals, the imminent next round of US fiscal negotiations, new political setbacks in Europe and hints that Chinese leaders are contemplating tapping the brakes on credit and property, are unlikely to amount to more than a consolidative pause in the face of reviving US & Asian demand, falling interest rates and abundant liquidity flows from money market funds into stocks.

Aditya Narain, Citigroup: Relative to previous market peaks, FII ownership levels are at a high, while portfolio value and market multiples are at a low. This mix suggests downside risks are low. Our year-end target for the Sensex stands at 20,800 and we believe a rate-cyclical biased portfolio will drive outperformance.
