FIIs net buy Rs 2385 cr in F&O on Dec 31

Institutional action

FIIs were net buyers to the tune of Rs 531 crore while DIIs net sellers of Rs 122 crore in cash market on December 31, as per provisional data available on NSE. FIIs were net buyers of Rs 2385 crore in F&O.

FIIs were net sellers of Rs 74 crore in Index Futures and net sellers of Rs 27 crore in Stock Futures while FIIs were net buyers of Rs 2498 crore in Index Options on December 31, as per data available on NSE.

Market cues

NSE F&O open interest (OI) was up by Rs 9627 crore at Rs 1.05 lakh crore.

MSCI India gained 18% year-to-date (YTD) versus 16% for MSCI EMs

F&O cues

Total Nifty Futures' open interest was up by Rs 1838 crore while total Nifty Options up Rs 7789 crore. Stock Futures net added 4.8 crore shares in open interest (OI).

Nifty Futures OI net added 4.77 lakh shares in OI and ended at 28 points premium. Nifty Open Interest PCR was up at 1.41 from 1.35.

Nifty 5900 Put added 23.1 lakh shares in Open Interest while Nifty 6300 Call added 13.5 lakh shares in Open Interest.

Nifty 5800 Put added 8.6 lakh shares in Open Interest; Nifty 6000 Put added 7.7 lakh shares in Open Interest and Nifty 6100 Put added 7.6 lakh shares in Open Interest. Nifty 6200 Call added 7.2 lakh shares in Open Interest.
