Reliance Power Q2 profit seen down 7% to Rs 233 cr: Poll

Net sales are seen going up by 24.7 percent (down 6 percent quarter-on-quarter) to Rs 1,647 crore in the second quarter of current financial year 2014-15 from Rs 1,321 crore in same quarter last year.

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group company Reliance Power is likely to report a 6.9 percent fall (down 4.6 percent sequentially) in consolidated profit at Rs 233 crore in September quarter compared to Rs 251 crore in the year-ago period, according to the average of estimates of analysts polled by CNBC-TV18.

Net sales are seen going up by 24.7 percent (down 6 percent quarter-on-quarter) to Rs 1,647 crore in the second quarter of current financial year 2014-15 from Rs 1,321 crore in same quarter last year.

Operating profit (EBITDA) may jump 40.4 percent year-on-year (down 4.6 percent Q-o-Q) to Rs 605 crore and margin may expand 410 basis points on yearly basis (up 50 bps sequentially) to 36.7 percent in the quarter gone by.

Expectations

Analysts expect overall generation to 34 percent year-on-year and down 6-7 percent Q-o-Q to 3.15 billion units.

They expect Rosa plant to operate at around 91 percent plant availability factor (PAF) and 88 percent plant load factor (PLF) levels (versus PAF of 91 percent in Q2 last year and 104 percent in Q1FY15).

Butibori plant may operate at around 85 percent PAF and 59 percent PLF levels. Sasan UMPP's operational units will not be consolidated in financials.

Key factors to watch out for are fuel supply at Rosa and clarity on fuel supply at Butibori; mining cost at Sasan; and update on Tilaiya land acquisition.
