Kolkata-headquartered Berger Paints' second quarter profit is likely to jump 32 percent year-on-year to Rs 117.5 crore on overall growth. Lower depreciation and finance cost may also support bottomline.

According to analysts polled by CNBC-TV18, revenue during the quarter is likely to increase 12 percent to Rs 1,309 crore compared with Rs 1,167 crore in year-ago period.

EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) may grow 26 percent year-on-year to Rs 194 crore and margin may rise 120 basis points to 14.8 percent in Q2.

High dealer buying may have seen ahead of Diwali, though heavy rains may have an impact on volume growth.

Berger Paints had reduced prices in decorative business in Q4FY16, so realisations may be lower by 2-3 percent.

Its closest peers Asian Paints & Kansai Nerolac reported double digit volume growth in decorative segment.
