Apollo Hospitals Q3 net profit up 25% to Rs 81 crore

Apollo Hospitals' third quarter net profit rose 25 percent year-on-year to Rs 81 crore, helped by strong growth in healthcare services and retail pharmacies.

Apollo Hospitals' third quarter net profit rose 25 percent year-on-year to Rs 81 crore, helped by strong growth in healthcare services and retail pharmacies.

The company reported a revenue of Rs 856 crore, up 20 percent from a year ago.

Analysts on average were expecting the Chennai-based company to report a net profit of Rs 84 crore on revenue of Rs 854 crore, according to a CNBC-TV18 poll.

Apollo Hospital's third quarter EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) at Rs 146 crore too was in-line with street expectation of Rs 147 crore, while operating margin came in at 17.1 percent, compared with analysts expectation of 17.2 percent.

Its sales from healthcare services rose 15 percent to Rs 565 crore, while pharmacy revenue was up 29 percent to Rs 291 crore, last quarter.

Profit from healthcare services increased to Rs 113 crore from Rs 95 crore. Pharmacy profit rose to Rs 5 crore from Rs 2 crore.

Apollo Hospitals shares were up 2.4 percent at Rs 844.15 on NSE in afternoon trade.
