The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) announced on November 8 the appointment of Venkat Nageswar Chalasani as the new Chief Executive. Chalasani will take over the position from NS Venkatesh, who retired after completing two consecutive three-year terms.
Chalasani's profile
Chalasani brings an extensive wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. His professional journey has been marked by nearly four decades of service at the State Bank of India (SBI) where he held the position of Deputy Managing Director (DMD) prior to joining AMFI.
He has also served in various board positions and contributing to committees established by the Reserve Bank of India and the Ministry of Finance. Additionally, Chalasani has served as the Chairman of both the Fixed Income Money Market and Derivatives Association of India (FIMMDA) and the Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India (FEDAI).
