The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan has released the Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test (KTET) 2026 notification for the February cycle on its official website. The test is conducted at the state level in offline mode for candidates who wish to become eligible to teach in schools across Kerala.
Application Dates and Process
Online registration will begin on February 26, 2026. The last date to submit the application form and pay the required fee is March 7, 2026. Candidates must complete the entire process within this period.
Applicants can take a printout of the submitted application form until March 13, 2026. It is important to keep a printed copy for future use. The examination date will be announced separately.
Application Fee
The application fee is Rs 500 for candidates belonging to the general category. Those from SC, ST and PH categories are required to pay Rs 250. The fee must be paid within the application deadline.
Eligibility and Attempts
There is no age limit to appear for the test. There is also no limit on the number of attempts. However, eligibility conditions vary according to the category selected during registration. Once a category is chosen, it cannot be changed after the application window closes.
Examination Pattern
The test will be conducted in pen and paper mode. Each paper will be of two hours and 30 minutes duration. There will be 150 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 150 marks.
The KTET examination is held twice every year. The detailed syllabus and pattern for each category are available in the official notification. Candidates are advised to read the prescribed structure carefully before starting their preparation.
