balu forge has commissioned its 100 percent make in india automated empty shell production line at belgaum, karnataka. the line, which is nearly 100 percent automated, has an annual capacity of 360,000 shells. this launch creates a new business category by entering the large calibre ammunition segment 155mm, 120mm, etc. and is the first phase of its plan to significantly contribute to the indian defence sector under the atmanirbhar bharat mission.
