Soha Ali Khan is a fitness enthusiast who looks after her health by not just incorporating daily movement but also including healthy foods that support overall well-being. In a new Instagram video, she shared that she had started a new ritual that involved eating raw garlic on an empty stomach and listed some of its benefits.

She wrote, “So for the past four weeks I have been starting my mornings with a little bite — of raw garlic. Why? Because this tiny clove is a powerhouse for immunity, gut health, inflammation, and overall balance. It’s ancient wisdom that still holds strong.”

The actress shared how she consumes it: "I take one raw clove on an empty stomach, chew for as long as I can to activate the magic compound allicin (tell me your best time), and then swallow with water. If you are not brave enough to chew, you can crush it and let it rest for ten minutes.”

However, many users explained to her in the comments that it must be crushed and swallowed with water. One wrote, “You must not chew it since it can damage tooth enamel. Instead, crush it with an object and swallow it with some water — that’s the safe way to consume garlic on an empty stomach, as per my mother.”

Soha took note of the suggestions and replied, “Okay, I’m going to pre-chop, let it rest for ten minutes, and then down it with water from tomorrow…!”

In her caption, Soha also left a word of caution by sharing, “It’s not for everyone — if you’re on blood thinners, have tummy sensitivity, or are planning surgery, always check with your doc first!”

The actress further confessed, “Garlic breath is real, but so are the benefits — so I suggest a good brushing of the teeth and a healthy dose of mouthwash after.”

To this, Shenaz Treasurywala joked, “I loveeee garlic too :) but I’m scared nobody will wanna kiss or talk to me after.” Another said, “Raw garlic is a fabulous medicine! Btw... you can have a glass of milk for the garlic breath. It really works. Also, milk and garlic is a great combo, especially during this monsoon season.”
