Malaika Arora has experimented with her diet enough to know what works for her and what doesn’t. While the actress follows intermittent fasting to stay healthy, she revealed in Soha Ali Khan’s podcast that she avoids tea or coffee. So what does she prefer instead? She shared that it's the good old desi drinks.
“I am not a tea or coffee person at all. I have never enjoyed tea, coffee. I have always liked milk while growing up. I have never really felt like having tea, coffee. Literally, I am not someone who wakes up and needs coffee right after. I would rather have a nariyal paani (coconut water) or a glass of chaas (buttermilk),” she said.
It’s not that Malaika hasn’t given the popular beverages a shot, but she shared that they don’t agree with her system. She added that she loves the smell of coffee, but refrains from consuming it.

“It's not like I haven't tried. I have. It doesn't agree with me. I have had coffee and I have felt awful. The taste was weird, and I felt my tummy was feeling strange. So, I figured it just doesn't work for me. I love the smell of coffee, but I can't actually consume it. So, I guess everybody is different,” Malaika added.
And while Malaika may not be into either of them, what she swears by is her hydration therapy. The actress is big on drinking liquids, and it’s not just plain water but also infused water and other refreshing drinks that keep her rejuvenated through long days.

She shared, “I begin my day with a lot of water. Women are so susceptible to UTIs and other related problems. I like infused water. It adds a little more to the hydration. Whether it’s cucumber or mint, it tastes better than just plain water. There’s nothing compared to water, but there’s no harm in trying alternate forms.”
The actress said her day includes drinking jeera and ajwain water and coconut water with a pinch of salt. Hydration is her top priority, as she believes Mumbai weather tends to leave one a little dehydrated.
