Internet reacts to Alaya F’s anti-inflammatory, energising snack recipe: “Nothing is healthy in this…”

Alaya F, a fitness enthusiast, recently shared a tried-and-tested snack recipe on Instagram, claiming it’s not only delicious but also anti-inflammatory and energising. However, the internet wasn’t convinced about the use of raw turmeric in it. Some even felt it might be high in calories for those on a weight-loss diet.

Alaya F has long been an advocate of a healthy lifestyle. While she believes in being consistent with her workouts for a fit body, she also pays equal attention to her nutrition. She recently took to her Instagram account and shared an old snack recipe, claiming it’s easy to make, healthy, and delicious.

Moreover, it’s tried and tested, as she revealed she has been having it for the last 8 years.

Ingredients of the recipe:

  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tsp honey
  •  ¼ tsp haldi (Turmeric)
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

How to Prepare:

Alaya suggested adjusting the quantities according to taste. In her caption, she wrote, “Mix it all together until it’s smooth. Spread it onto toast or a plain rice cracker or have it with apple slices, or just eat it straight off the spoon.”

“It’s one of my favourite snacks before a workout or whenever I need a quick energy boost or something a little sweet! It’s filling, anti-inflammatory, naturally energising, and tastes great too! Try it and let me know what you think! I’ve been loyal to this recipe for years,” she added.

Internet Reacts to Alaya’s Recipe:

Many internet users who have been following Alaya for years took note of the recipe. One of them wrote, “I love the idea of mixing peanut butter with turmeric and cinnamon! Can’t wait to give this a try.”

However, many were not convinced with  the use of raw turmeric in the paste, generally considered to cause heat in the body. Replying to one of the comments, Alaya said, “Turmeric on its own isn’t absorbed well by the body, which is why people sometimes say it’s not ideal to eat raw. But when you pair it with a fat source like peanut butter, it helps with proper absorption. The quantity used here is very small and totally safe, so there’s no issue unless someone has a specific medical condition or allergy!”

Another user wrote, “Nothing is healthy in this other than berries.” To this, Alaya replied, “Arey kya baat kar rahe ho yaar (What are you saying, friend)?”

She then listed the benefits of each ingredient:

  • Peanut Butter: healthy fats, protein, keeps you full
  • Honey: natural energy boost, antioxidant, antibacterial
  • Haldi: anti-inflammatory and amazing for immunity
  • Cinnamon: supports digestion and helps balance blood sugar
  • Berries: antioxidants, fibre, and yes, they’re cute too

A fan of Alaya suggested going for the snack with a slight tweak. “This looks like a really good snack even though it’s a bit high on the calories. However, the turmeric is probably gonna make it taste weird. I’d totally have this as a snack - even as a pre-workout - just without the turmeric,” he shared.
