After days of chatter online, Yash’s team has stepped in to set the record straight: the KGF actor is not joining Lord Marco. The denial comes after speculation caught fire on social media, with many fans convinced that Yash was in talks to headline the project.
Lord Marco is the latest from director Haneef Adeni and producer Shareef Muhammed of Cubes Entertainments—the duo behind last year’s action hit Marco.
Adding fuel to the speculation, the makers of Marco registered the title Lord Marco yesterday. Interestingly, the official Instagram page of Marco also started following Yash today, which only intensified chatter among fans about the KGF star’s possible involvement in the project.
What We Know About Lord Marco
The makers recently registered the title Lord Marco with the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce, sparking curiosity about its connection to Marco. That 2024 release, fronted by Unni Mukundan, was a violent actioner that crossed ₹100 crores at the box office and marked Cubes Entertainments’ production debut.
While fans had expected a sequel, Unni later backed out. In an Instagram post, he admitted, “Apologies, but I have dropped plans to continue the Marco series. Too much negativity around the project. I’ll try my best to bring something bigger and better.”
According to industry insiders, a fallout between Unni and the makers might have played a part in that decision.

The Road Ahead for Yash and Unni
With Yash officially distancing himself from Lord Marco, attention shifts back to his packed lineup. The star is currently working on Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, and has the big-budget mythological epic Ramayana on the horizon.
Unni, meanwhile, is set to take on the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Maa Vande, a biopic directed by Telugu filmmaker Kranthi Kumar CH. He also has a project with veteran director Joshiy coming up.

As for Cubes Entertainments, their next release will be Kattalan, starring Antony Varghese Pepe and directed by debutant Paul George.
For now, fans will have to wait for an official word on whether Lord Marco is intended as a sequel or an entirely new story.
