Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor’s wedding on January 22, 1980, was one of the grandest celebrations Bollywood had ever seen. The entire area from RK House to the golf course was cordoned off, with festivities stretching over 20 days.

In a throwback interview, Neetu Kapoor recalled how the scale of the wedding left both bride and groom overwhelmed. She revealed, “I fainted at my wedding and so did my husband. My lehenga was too heavy and the crowd was just too much. My husband fainted because he couldn’t take the crowd. He fainted just before he was to climb on the ghodi.”

She also shared another amusing memory, saying that several gate crashers made their way into the reception, carrying gift boxes. When opened later, those boxes shockingly contained stones.

But beyond the chaos and funny anecdotes, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor will always be remembered as the evergreen couple of Bollywood. They reinstated faith in love and marriage with their khullam khulla pyaar, never shying away from showing their affection.
