Udaipur has turned into the backdrop of one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the year as Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna celebrate their pre-wedding festivities in royal style.

From a Japanese theme dinner to friendly volleyball and cricket matches with guests, the celebrations have been intimate yet vibrant. But it was at the grand sangeet ceremony that a deeply emotional moment stole the spotlight.

According to reports, Vijay Deverakonda’s mother, Madhavi Deverakonda, grew emotional during the sangeet night and lovingly referred to Rashmika as “My darling Rushi” while blessing her.

The heartfelt gesture reportedly left guests teary-eyed, turning the evening into more than just a musical celebration. The affectionate nickname and the warmth behind it symbolised acceptance and love, marking a significant moment in the couple’s journey.

Adding to the emotional significance of the ceremony, Madhavi is also said to have gifted Rashmika traditional heirloom bangles. As per custom, the presentation of family jewellery represents welcoming the bride into the family and passing down legacy and blessings. A source quoted in earlier reports described the gesture as a symbol of love, tradition and continuity.

Vijay and Rashmika’s story began in 2018 on the sets of the blockbuster Geetha Govindam. The romantic drama not only performed exceptionally well at the box office but also established them as one of Telugu cinema’s most adored on-screen pairs. They reunited in 2019 for Dear Comrade, further strengthening their popularity among fans.

Over the years, their frequent public appearances together at dinners, vacations and industry events fuelled speculation about their relationship. However, both consistently maintained that they were close friends, choosing to keep their personal lives private.

On February 22, the couple officially confirmed their wedding through a joint Instagram statement. They revealed that they have named their union ‘The Wedding of VIROSH’, a term lovingly coined by fans by blending their names. In their message, they expressed gratitude to supporters who stood by them even before they publicly acknowledged their relationship.

While the Udaipur ceremony is being kept private with only close family and friends in attendance, reports suggest that a grand reception is planned in Hyderabad on March 4. The post-wedding celebration is expected to host prominent members of the Telugu film industry, marking a larger public celebration after their intimate vows.
