Ajith Kumar's highly anticipated film, Vidaamuyarchi, did not perform as expected at the box office, failing to live up to the initial excitement and expectations surrounding its release. Despite the promising start, the film's earnings gradually slowed down, leading to a relatively modest box office collection.

However, the filmmakers have now announced that the film will be making its way to OTT platforms for digital release. With this move, it will be intriguing to see if Vidaamuyarchi finds a stronger connection with audiences in the digital space, where films often get a second chance to captivate viewers.

The film sparked immense excitement among fans and audiences, leading to a strong opening but eventually declined.

Directed by the renowned Magizh Thirumeni, Vidaamuyarchi is a 2025 Indian Tamil-language action thriller. The film, which takes inspiration from the 1997 American thriller Breakdown, is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the prestigious Lyca Productions banner.

Ajith Kumar's  Vidaamuyarchi  is scheduled to debut on Netflix on March 28, according to sources, offering a convenient option for those who missed the theatrical release.

Vidaamuyarchi has secured significant partnerships for its post-theatrical distribution. Sun TV has acquired the satellite rights, ensuring a grand television premiere that is likely to attract a wide audience.

As per a Jagran report, the film will premiere on Sun TV on April 14, coinciding with Tamil New Year celebrations, making the occasion even more special for viewers.

Alongside Ajith Kumar, the film also stars Arjun Sarja, Trisha Krishnan, Regina Cassandra, Arav, and Ramya Subramanian.

Vidaamuyarchi, inspired by the 1997 film Breakdown, follows the story of Arjun (Ajith) and Kayal (Trisha), a couple whose peaceful road trip quickly turns into a nightmare when Kayal is abducted by a group of strangers. Arjun must race against time to rescue her.

As the story unfolds, it delves into the couple's past, revealing how their love has evolved over the years. Along the way, they encounter Rakshith (Arjun), Deepika (Regina), and Michael (Arav), who bring new threats, forcing Arjun into a high-stakes chase to uncover the truth.
