Last week, the actor unveiled an action-filled trailer for the movie. In a recent interview, Varun clarified that Baby John is not a direct remake, but rather an adaptation, offering a fresh take on the original.
In an interview with India Today, Varun mentioned, "When Atlee came with this film, there was a reason behind it, and he said that we had to change a lot of the geography of the film. We have to use it as an adaptation and not really a proper remake, and I think that's what's done.”
Varun went on and said, "Like you see, a lot of the frames and a lot of the story angles are different. So, if someone comes in expecting a book-by-book remake, they will be disappointed because that's not what the film is. It's an adaptation. We're not running away from that, but it's more of an adaptation"
Baby John is an action-packed drama directed by Kalees, marking the Hindi production debut of Atlee, known for Jawan. Varun Dhawan stars as a police officer and single father, embodying a character unafraid to face challenges head-on. In one intense scene, he powerfully declares, "Mere jaise bohat aaye hoge, main pehali baar aaya hu" ("Many like me might have come before, but I have come here for the first time"), setting the stage for his heroic journey.
Set to release this Christmas, Baby John also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh, and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles, with a special cameo by Salman Khan.

While talking about Salman Khan's cameo in the film, Varun said, "Main jitna bhi bolun kam hoga unke baaren main, I think saare darshak, poora Bharat unse bhot Pyaar karta hai aur bhot waqt baad humein unhe dekhna ka mauka millega, aur voh proper 5-6 minute ka scene hai, bhot bada scene hai, usme action hai, drama hai, comedy hai aur I think iska jo impact rahega voh kaafi dinno tak rahega [No matter how much I praise him, it won’t be enough. I think the entire audience, all of India, loves him a lot, and after a long time, we’ll get the chance to see him again. It’s a proper 5-6 minute scene, a very big scene, with action, drama, and comedy, and I believe its impact will be felt for a long time"]
