TV actor Gurucharan Singh, who was seen in the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the hit show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', went missing a few days ago, and now reports are that Palam police have filed a kidnapping case.
Police officials are investigating the case and also trying to trace Gurucharan's call records. “The mischief complaint was filed around 4 days ago in Palam, South Delhi. Based on this, the police are investigating the case. No FIR has been filed as of now. All investigations are being done based on the missing complaint,” said a police official.
The police have filed an FIR under Section 365 of the IPC based on his complaint. Gurucharan's father had filed a missing person complaint after his son had left Delhi for Mumbai but never landed in Mumbai.
He was last seen at the Delhi airport on April 22. Singh was due to catch a flight to Mumbai but never arrived at his destination, nor did he return home.
His disappearance has caused considerable concern, particularly because he is 50 years old and has been described as mentally stable. Efforts to reach him, including calls to his phone, have been unsuccessful.
A missing complaint filed by Gurucharan Singh's father read: "My son Gurucharan Singh, age 50, had left at 8:30 a.m. on April 22nd to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn't reach Mumbai, nor has he returned home, and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable, and we had been searching for him, but now he has been missing!"
Singh's role as Sodhi in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' was not just a character; he became an integral part of Indian families through their television screens. His decision to leave the show was to focus on his family, especially due to his father's health issues. Despite this and other cast members facing delays in payment clearance, Singh's contributions to the show remained significant.
The sudden disappearance of Gurucharan Singh has left many in the industry and the audience worried, hoping for his safe return. 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' has been a staple of Indian television since its debut in 2008, and Singh's character has been one of its cornerstones.
