Smriti had highlighted Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's enduring standard.

Nishi Saxena, who plays Dimpy in the television series Anupamaa, recently discussed her thoughts on the persistent parallels between her programme and the classic Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. This is in response to remarks made by the latter's star, Smriti Irani, regarding its lasting influence.

Nishi said she admired Smriti Irani and the actors of her generation. Every decade contributes something different to television, she said. "I greatly like Smriti ma'am and the work that her generation of performers produced. However, there is something fresh in every era. Actors today are putting in just as much effort to engage audiences in their own unique ways. It's about evolution, not comparison. Every performer and every narrative has their time and place,” Nishi told News18.

While Smriti proudly emphasised Kyunki's enduring legacy, Nishi's reaction provides a novel viewpoint on the organic development of television storytelling, recognizing both the groundwork established by earlier idols and the efforts of the current generation to continue engaging audiences in novel ways.

Smriti had highlighted Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's enduring standard. "It is unfair to compare newcomers with established icons like myself," she said.

"You can't say, 'Compete with Smriti Irani,' to someone who has just started anything. It's amazing that we were able to return after 25 years despite having competition media," she continued.

Nishi's comments demonstrate how modern performers work to acknowledge historical accomplishments while captivating viewers in a novel way. Her viewpoint emphasises a respect for both past and present efforts in television narrative.
