Munawar Faruqui takes a jibe at Elvish Yadav for running an NGO scam; questions, ‘Sick world, yeh kaunsa business chala rahe ho?’ (Watch Video)

While Elvish requested crowdfunding for the NGO, Munawar went into his stories to disclose that some NGOs pay celebrities and influencers via agencies to create specific content that evokes emotions. He indirectly slammed Elvish’s motives as a business opportunity.

An emerging internet controversy is unfolding in the Indian creator community, as Munawar Faruqui has reportedly uncovered Elvish Yadav's involvement in an NGO scam. The claim surfaced when Elvish posted a video featuring a family that sought his financial assistance.

The family disclosed that their child is diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and therefore they require an injection from the USA, which costs Rs. 9 crores. In the clip, Elvish urged his viewers to assist the family.

Shortly after this video was shared, Munawar went into his stories to disclose that some NGOs pay celebrities and influencers via agencies to create specific content that evokes emotions.

He disclosed that this aids them in gathering additional donations.

In his video, Munawar stated, “Hamare fees bohot zyada hai, and they were willing to pay.’ Pehle toh hum aise promotion karne hi nahi chahiye. I was taken aback. Ki dost, yeh kaisa kaam ho raha hai? Ho sakta hai asal ho ya na ho, lekin ilaaj ke baad ka paisa kahan chale jaega?” (Our fees are quite steep, and they were willing to cover them. To begin with, we don’t engage in this type of promotion at all. I was astonished. What type of business is this? It might be real or not, but where will the funds raised post-treatment end up?)

He further said, “Agar itna crowd fund ikattha karne wale ho, toh iske alawa koi na koi business irada toh hoga na. Bhai, badi bimari hai. Sab deewane ho chuke hai. (If you’re collecting such a large sum through crowdfunding, there must be some other commercial intention behind it. It’s awesome, dude. Everyone has lost their sanity.)”

Munawar went on, voicing his discontent, “Bas yeh baat aise rakh raha hoon, taaki sabko yeh samajh aaye ke log aise kaam kya kar rahe hain. Yeh theek nahi hai. Iss tarah ki jazbati kahaniyaan suna kar, shayad aap us gareeb insaan se bhi madad hasil kar lein. Mat karo. (Sharing this to make everyone aware of the types of activities people are engaged in. This is incorrect. By sharing such touching narratives, you could even elicit generosity from someone in need. Please refrain from doing this.)

Although Munawar didn't directly refer to Elvish, the questionable timing of the story led everyone to wonder if it targeted him.
