After years away from the spotlight, Mamta Kulkarni, the former film star is set to make a rare television appearance on Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment Season 3, a show that thrives on warmth, humour and a touch of chaos in the kitchen.

The series, which cleverly mixes cooking with comedy, has struck a chord with audiences. This season features Aly Goni, Karan Kundrra, Tejasswi Prakash, Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain, among others, who attempt to whip up dishes while keeping the laughter alive.

On 28 February, the atmosphere on set turned even more special as Mamta Kulkarni arrived to join the fun, marking her return to television after 25 years.

Speaking to photographers outside the studio, Mamta Kulkarni could hardly hide her excitement. Reflecting on her comeback, she said, “I am very excited. I am coming on television after 25 years. In fact, if you notice, I have never been on television ever in the last 25 years of my life. Ek accha mauka hai, hasne ka mauka milta hai, hu log bahot Gambhir hogaye hain, zindagi bahot Gambhir hogayi hai… sab jagah seriousness hai. So isse acchi baat kya hai ke hasso bhi, khana bhi banao aur laughter bhi hai…”

Her words hinted at something deeper — a longing for lightness in a world she feels has grown increasingly serious. When asked whether she had watched the programme before agreeing to appear, Mamta Kulkarni shared that she had followed it and genuinely enjoyed its cheerful spirit.

The show, hosted by Bharti Singh and judged by Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, has become a comfort watch for many households. Familiar faces such as Arjun Bijlani, Nia Sharma and Sudesh Lehri have also returned this season, strengthening its sense of camaraderie.

Mamta Kulkarni stepped away from films after Kabhie Tum Kabhie Hum and later embraced a spiritual path, distancing herself from the industry that once made her a household name through films like Karan Arjun and Krantiveer.
