Actress Erica Fernandes, recognised for her roles in TV series such as Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi and Kasautii Zindagii Kay, recently spoke about the current strikes in Dubai, confirming that she is safe.
In her updates, the actress commended the UAE government and Dubai’s officials for their effective management of the situation, resulting in online trolling.
Erica wrote a message on her social media handle, “Habibi, you’re always welcome in Dubai, enjoying a blast in the sky,” subtly suggesting it is safe to travel to Dubai amid the ongoing US-ISRAEL-IRAN conflict drawing everyone's focus.
Beneath this post, individuals began mocking Erica, with some claiming she would soon plead with PM Narendra Modi for help, among other comments.
A social media user wrote, “Thode din aur intezaar karo phir bharatiya sarkar se bheek mangte dikhoge.”
Another stated, “Rona mat Bharat ki sarkar ke liye baad mein…wahan hi raho.” The third remarked, “It's fine; don't come to India now, just stay there.”
"PR is thriving from the UAE government. Everyone is sharing the same videos," remarked the fourth.
In response to these remarks, Erica responded, explaining she is merely stating the facts and pointing out how matters are being managed in Dubai. “Calm down, everyone. This is not a comparison with any other nation. I’m just expressing the truth about the city where I live. It's simple to form opinions from afar, but the true essence of this safety and efficiency can only be appreciated when you're experiencing it firsthand. I’m representing the city I reside in; we are secure and cared for, and the circumstances are being managed exceptionally well. Take deep breaths!"
Only recently, multiple international flights to and from Dubai have been briefly halted due to airspace limitations enforced as a result of the ongoing unrest in West Asian areas.
The abrupt halting of operations has left passengers stranded, creating uncertainty regarding their future travel plans. The airports faced both flight delays and cancellations, leading to issues for travellers who were flying.
Erica, who often flies between India and Dubai for work, was stranded when all flights were halted. She had spoken about the situation and also appreciated how the UAE government has managed the situation.
