TV actress Simple Kaul files for divorce after 15 years of marriage

The actress recently filed for divorce after getting married in 2010.

Simple Kaul, an entrepreneur and television actress who has starred in prominent dramas including Ziddi Dil Maane Na, Shararat, and Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah, has announced that she and her husband, Rahul Loomba, have decided to split up.

The actress recently filed for divorce after getting married in 2010.

Simple revealed in an exclusive interview with TOI, "It's fairly recent. We are both incredibly mature human beings, and it is reciprocal. We are not just family. Since I've known this guy for so long, I simply don't think that it's finished. You and your spouse become family after marriage, and that relationship never changes. How people separate is a mystery to me. I don't imagine it happening. I live in love and experience a great deal of happiness, love, and spiritual awareness throughout my life. I live like this.”

Simple did not reveal the reason behind them parting ways.

In an earlier interview with the publication in 2023, Simple characterized her marriage as long-distance because of his business travel.

“He travels overseas a lot. I miss him sometimes, but we have a great understanding and a strong friendship. It all comes down to compatibility and maintaining your life's balance. We have a good work-life balance because I can concentrate on my career when he is away," she had said.

Simple Kaul met her husband, businessman Rahul Loomba, during the production of one of her TV shows, where he was working as the executive producer. They began dating and were in a relationship for nine years before tying the knot in 2010.

Speaking of Simple, she debuted as an actress in 2002 in the serial Kkusum, produced by Ekta Kapoor. Her most memorable role came the following year as Parminder ‘Pam’ Sohni in the fantasy-comedy series Shararat which aired from 2003 to 2006.
