Actress, doctor Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju had a recent meeting with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and that moment was nothing short of life coming full circle to her.
After their talk, Trinetra, who is best known for her parts in Kankhajura and Made in Heaven, shared a very personal note in which she recalled the significant influence Khan's TV series Satyamev Jayate had on her life.
In her post, Trinetra explained that it was an episode of the show, aired over a decade ago, that gave her parents the courage and clarity to understand her identity as a transgender woman. The episode, which featured voices from the LGBTQ+ community including Gazal Dhaliwal and Harish Iyer, offered her family a glimpse of what her future could look like.
“This is an emotional post. I wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for Aamir sir and the episode of Satyamev Jayate featuring @gazaldhaliwal @iyerharish and many other lovely members of our community. It helped me come out to my parents, it helped them see a future for me, it helped me become Trinetra. Sometimes, I don’t know why the universe does what it does, but I’m grateful for many beautiful things, including this very special conversation. My inner child is overjoyed and how,” she wrote.
For Trinetra, the encounter was more than meeting a star — it was a chance to thank someone whose work indirectly gave her the acceptance she needed within her own home. Her words were circulated widely and loved by many, reminding many of the quiet but lasting influence socially conscious art can have.
Aamir Khan, who has long been commended for selecting projects with a message, used Satyamev Jayate to raise awareness of topics that are frequently ignored, such as gender rights, healthcare, and social justice. Sensitive discussions were introduced into mainstream homes thanks to his readiness to listen and elevate voices that were not heard.

In the meantime, Khan is getting ready for his next major undertaking, a Rajkumar Hirani-directed biopic about film pioneer Dadasaheb Phalke, which is set to start production in October.
But just meeting Aamir Khan changed Trinetra's life. It gave her the opportunity to thank a program that influenced not only public opinion but also her personal development.
