Three young girls from Maharashtra allegedly staged their own kidnapping in an attempt to raise money for a trip to South Korea, where they hoped to meet members of the globally renowned BTS K-pop band, according to police reports on Monday.

The girls, aged 11 and 13, from Dharashiv district, had secretly planned to travel to Pune in search of money to fund their trip. Their ultimate goal was to travel to South Korea and meet their favorite BTS members. The Omerga police station official revealed that on December 27, they received an urgent call to their helpline, with the caller claiming that three girls had been forcibly abducted in a school van from Omerga taluka in the district.

The police immediately sprang into action upon receiving the distress call and traced the number, which turned out to belong to a woman traveling on a state transport bus from Omerga to Pune. As the bus passed through the Mohol area in Solapur district, the police quickly coordinated with their counterparts in Mohol and enlisted the help of a local woman who runs a shop at the Mohol bus stand.

With her assistance, the three girls were located, removed from the bus, and brought to a nearby police station. The Omerga police team, along with the girls' parents, later arrived at the station to reunite with them, the official confirmed.

Over the years, BTS has become a cultural phenomenon, particularly among young girls, thanks to their catchy music, powerful performances, and engaging personalities. The band’s immense popularity has earned them a dedicated fanbase worldwide, known as "ARMY".
