The break-in occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, around 3:30 am. The thief, displaying remarkable determination, scaled six floors using a pipe to gain access to the filmmaker's flat. Once inside, the burglar began searching through the apartment for valuables, all while the residents were asleep and unaware of the intrusion.

Joshi, who is known for her work in the Marathi film industry, was asleep in another room when the incident unfolded. The thief initially went unnoticed as he carefully moved through the flat, even opening the bedroom door where two people were sleeping. However, the situation took a turn when Joshi’s pet cat, sensing the intruder, began meowing loudly. The cat's persistent cries soon woke up Joshi’s daughter and son-in-law, who were sleeping in another room.

Alerted by the cat's behavior, they quickly realized something was amiss. Upon waking up and noticing the strange activity, they immediately began shouting, “Thief! Thief!” The commotion startled the burglar, who hastily tried to escape. However, before making his exit, the thief managed to grab Rs 6,000 from the flat.

The incident has since been reported to the Amboli Police Station, where an investigation is currently underway. The police are examining CCTV footage from the flat to gather more information about the intruder and to help identify the suspect. This footage clearly shows the thief entering the flat and moving around, which could be crucial in tracking him down.

This incident serves as a reminder of how unexpected circumstances and even pets can play a crucial role in safety and security. The quick actions of the pet cat not only alerted the family to the presence of the thief but also potentially prevented a more significant loss. It is a testament to the often-overlooked vigilance of pets and their ability to sense danger, even when humans are unaware.

Swapna Joshi and her family were fortunate to escape the situation without any harm. The loss, although unfortunate, could have been much worse had it not been for the timely intervention of their pet cat. The family is undoubtedly grateful for the alertness of their feline friend, whose actions helped avert a potentially dangerous situation.

As the police continue their investigation, the community is reminded of the importance of securing their homes and remaining vigilant, especially during the night. The incident has also sparked discussions about home security and the role pets can play in alerting their owners to danger. It's a story that not only highlights the bravery of a small pet but also serves as a wake-up call for everyone to ensure that their homes are secure from such threats.
