Tere Ishk Mein is inching toward its theatrical debut, and the audience has already started showing up at the ticket windows. With Dhanush and Kriti Sanon leading the charge and Aanand L Rai steering the film back into the world of intense romantic drama, the early response has been steady enough to suggest that viewers are curious about what this new pairing brings to the screen.

Aanand L Rai is back in his favourite territory with a sweeping romantic drama led by Dhanush and Kriti Sanon. The film is slated for a November 28 release, and the advance booking window is already signalling momentum. With three days still to go, the response has been consistent rather than explosive, which actually suits a romance built on emotional pull instead of big-ticket spectacle.

By Tuesday evening, Sacnilk recorded 34,104 tickets sold across India. The Hindi version commanded almost the entire chunk with 33,858 tickets, while the Tamil version contributed 246 tickets. Factor in block seats, and the film has collected about 2.23 crore from pre-sales. For a drama of this genre, that’s a respectable start and gives the team room to build word-of-mouth as the release approaches.

The censor process was smooth. The CBFC asked for no visual cuts. Only a single word in a dialogue was modified before granting the film a U/A 16+ certificate on November 24. The final runtime sits at 169.17 minutes, just shy of three hours, signalling a full-bodied narrative that isn’t in a hurry.

During a press conference in Delhi, Dhanush spoke about reuniting with Aanand after Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re. With his trademark dry wit, he said, Aanand calls me for these kinds of films. I asked him, Why do you keep calling me He looked at my face. Kriti or Aanand, one of them, told me, You have a great love failure face. It was a reminder of the unusual, aching quality he brings to romantic tragedies.

Tere Ishk Mein comes from T-Series and Colour Yellow, produced by Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, with writing by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav. The story unfolds across Banaras and Delhi, tracing the intense bond between Shankar and Mukti.

This is the first on-screen pairing between Dhanush and Kriti. The trailer hinted at a volatile equation charged with passion, pain and inevitability. With three languages hitting theatres – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu – the film now waits to see whether its early bookings translate into a strong opening weekend.
