ZEE5 has announced the premiere of its Telugu original series, Vikkatakavi: The Chronicles of Amaragiri, set to launch on November 28. This marks Telangana's first-ever detective series, blending historical intrigue with thrilling mystery. Produced by Ram Talluri of SRT Entertainments and directed by Pradeep Maddali, the period thriller explores the rich history and enigma of Telangana, particularly focusing on the Amaragiri region.

Naresh Agastya, who previously worked with the platform on Paruvu, stars as Ramakrishna, a young detective investigating a chilling case in the 1970s Nallamalla Forest. Megha Akash plays the role of Princess Lakshmi in this gripping saga. The trailer for the series was recently unveiled by actor Vishwak Sen, adding to the buzz around its upcoming release.

Set in the soon-to-be-submerged Amaragiri province, Vikkatakavi follows Ramakrishna, a detective tasked with investigating a peculiar case: villagers who enter the Nallamalla Forest at night are mysteriously losing their memories, and local legends point to the curse of a goddess.

Actor Naresh Agastya shared his thoughts and said, “Playing Ramakrishna in Vikkatakavi has been an exciting and challenging experience at the same time. As a young detective, Ramakrishna is driven by a personal mission to uncover the truth, and his journey is filled with twists that test his resolve and intelligence. What I love about this role is his depth—he's not just solving a mystery, but also dealing with his own mysterious past. The character’s resilience and determination to uncover the truth despite overwhelming odds make him truly admiring and worth watching. I’m eagerly looking forward to the premiere and confident that audiences will love the thrilling story and the layers of mystery we've created.”

As Ramakrishna delves deeper into the mystery, he uncovers a dark web of historical conspiracies, political schemes, and the tragic death of the king's son. The closer he gets to the truth, the more startling the revelations about Amaragiri's past become. With the province facing imminent submersion under the Krishna River, all of its secrets are at risk of being lost forever—unless Ramakrishna can solve the enigma in time.

The show immerses viewers in the 1970s Telangana, with its lush landscapes and ancient traditions, providing a fresh and fascinating backdrop for the detective thriller. With exceptional performances by Naresh Agastya and Megha Akash, I am confident that audiences will be gripped by this complex and layered story. The trailer is just a small taste of what’s to come—packed with high-quality production, stunning periodic sets, and a suspenseful storyline.
