India's music scene just got a major update. Asia's largest electronic dance music (EDM) celebration, the Sunburn Festival, is relocating from Goa to Mumbai for its 2025 edition. After nearly two decades of drawing crowds to Goa’s beaches, the three-day musical extravaganza is all set to bring its electrifying energy to the Maximum City for the first time ever on December 19, 20, and 21.
Sunburn, which debuted in 2007, has long been synonymous with Goa’s vibrant party culture. However, organisers have now decided to shift the festival to Mumbai, citing increased accessibility and the potential for a more immersive and large-scale experience. With Mumbai's infrastructure and growing appetite for global music events, the festival is poised to reach new heights.
Fans can start planning early. Exclusive pre-sale access for RuPay credit card holders opens on August 12, 2025, at 12 PM. The general on-sale for the public begins August 14, 2025, at 12 PM, available through BookMyShow. Early buyers are expected to snag the best-priced passes and exclusive perks.
While the venue and line-up are yet to be announced, organisers promise that the Mumbai edition will retain all the signature elements that have made Sunburn a fan favourite - high-octane performances, state-of-the-art stage setups, interactive installations, and a carnival-like atmosphere.

Sunburn has previously hosted some of the world’s biggest EDM stars including Martin Garrix, Skrillex, DJ Snake, Swedish House Mafia, Alan Walker, Tiësto, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, and Armin van Buuren. If the past is any indication, the 2025 line-up is expected to feature an equally stellar cast.
With its move to Mumbai, Sunburn 2025 marks a historic new chapter, that promises an unforgettable year-end celebration for EDM lovers across the country.
