The spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi brought together not just family but also an on-screen family that fans continue to hold close to their hearts.
Actress Shruti Seth hosted the festival at her home in Mumbai, where her Shararat co-stars and friends joined in to celebrate — making it a nostalgic reunion for fans of the much-loved show.
Actress Simple Kaul took to Instagram to share pictures from the celebrations, writing warmly about how Shruti’s Ganesh Chaturthi lunch has become a cherished yearly ritual. “Each year you call us for lunch on Ganesh Chaturthi @shru2kill. I hv been coming here since Shararat days. I look forward to the lovely lunch, meeting with the same bunch of people over the years. It’s actually become a ritual to start the Ganpati festival from your home.”
Her post reflected not only the festive spirit but also the enduring friendships built during their time together on the show.
In a video shared from the gathering, Simple playfully remarked: “All those who couldn’t make it, it’s too bad we are chilling.” Adding to the excitement, actress Farida Jalal teased the possibility of a sequel: “And we are going to make Shararat part 2 interested? God is listening might just happen.” She even closed her note with the show’s iconic magical chant: “Shring Bring Sarwaling Bhoot Bhavishya Wartmaan Badling.”
For the occasion, Simple Kaul radiated elegance in a Kashmiri outfit from @tul_palav, while Shruti Seth looked graceful in a saree. Wahida Rehman chose a white suit paired with a yellow dupatta.
Simple added a playful note of thanks to actor Shiv Panditt, who captured the festive moments despite the challenging light and bustling frames: “Thanku @shivpanditt for clicking these even if they were in too much top light & too many people in & out of frame.”

Simple also fondly acknowledged Shruti’s parents for their warmth and hospitality: “I always look forward to meet Faridaji and everyone else. Your mom dad hv always been such good hosts Shruts… there’s so much abundance and joy always here.”
What began years ago during their Shararat days has blossomed into a tradition of togetherness that continues to this day. The reunion was not just about celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, but also about rekindling bonds and reminding everyone that the best festivals are those shared with people who feel like family.
