Shanaya Kapoor recently marked an important milestone in her budding film career as she wrapped up shooting for her upcoming film JC, a period comedy directed by Shujaat Saudagar. The young starlet celebrated the wrap with a warm cake-cutting ceremony on set, joined by the cast and crew who have worked closely with her over the past few months.
Shanaya took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes glimpses from the celebration. She posted a picture of the cake on her stories with the caption, “wrap for,” hinting at the emotional conclusion of her time on the set. The cake also featured a heartfelt message from director Shujaat Saudagar: “Will miss you Dee, keep shining,” showcasing the camaraderie and affection that developed between them during the shoot.
The cake, which read “Wrap up for Diana,” also revealed Shanaya’s character name in the film. Both Shanaya and Saudagar posted about the celebration, giving fans a peek into the joyous and emotional moment that marked the end of this chapter in her journey.
JC is set in 1980s Goa and features Shanaya Kapoor opposite Munjya actor Abhay Verma. The film is positioned as a light-hearted period comedy, promising a mix of nostalgia and entertainment. Though Shanaya is yet to make her official acting debut, she already has a promising slate of projects lined up.
JC is her third film after Vrushabha, in which she stars alongside Malayalam cinema icon Mohanlal, and Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan, a romantic musical co-starring Vikrant Massey. These projects signal a strong and diverse start to her acting career.
