Art collector and artist herself, a philanthropist, Shalini Passi wears many hats and is a proud Delhiite at heart. The entrepreneur has been winning hearts by being her true self and positive demeanor in the hit show Fabulous Lives Vs. Bollywood Wives Season 3, which is streaming on Netflix.

In an exclusive conversation with Money Control, Shalini Passi thanked fans for all the love she has been receiving and that one fear she had before the show's release worldwide.

When asked how the response has been and now that she has become a national celebrity, how is she taking all this? To this, Shalini said she is thankful for all the love and overwhelmed with emotions.

"I cannot imagine this kind of way; on social media and everybody—Twitter, Instagram, and the platforms that I'm not even on—I keep getting these updates, and it's really amazing. And I just want to stay level headed, and also, you know, the best part of it is that not many people are famous. Right? But what I'm thinking when I'm reading the messages is that it's actually, like, inspired, which is really something else, which is that I'm so happy about that," she told Money Control in a candid chat from her Delhi home.

Shalini said she feels good about the fact that she has inspired many women across society, and that's one thing she feels is the best she has achieved post-show.

"It's not easy to get fame. Right? But this is fame and love, and it's like I'm making a difference to people's lives, and that's what I always wanted to do. I wanted to make a difference, and when I came on the series, that was not my intention. I thought that I'd get a bigger platform for my work or for the Art Foundation. But this has actually touched women's lives. I'm really grateful for that. I was also getting emotional reading the messages. So that was something else," she added.

In the third season of Netflix's hit show Fabulous Lives Vs. Bollywood Wives, Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Kothari, Bhavana Pandey, and Seema are joined by three elite girls from Delhi, including Shalini, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Kalyani Saha.

Shalini has become an internet sensation, and people are intrigued not only with her Over the Top style but also the way she carries herself, her conversations, and especially her Bling purses—be it the bird, telephone, or any other shape.

Shalini is married to businessman Sanjay Passi, who is the owner of PASCO. She is 48 years old and the mother of a 27-year-old son.

Shalini is very passionate about the arts, and her MASH ball, which she hosts every year, provides a platform for upcoming artists. The MASH ball was also shown in the first episode of the show.

When asked about how she is taking in all the fame and comments, Shalini said people, especially women, are praising her for keeping it real and have actually called her 'a wrapped version of Sanjay Passi.'

"A lot of people said on DMs, and that's what we saw in the beginning: Shalini Passi is just a wrapped version of Sanjay Passi. Shalini Passi is actually just a dressed-up version of Sanjay Passi. Apparently, they are the same. So for me, when I got married, of course, Kalyani knows and my friends know too. I was a really simple person. But if I had to live in society and if I had to not get run over every time, I had to create a persona, which is, like, I'm not approachable. You cannot come near me, cannot talk to me. And, you know, my friends know that, and they can see beyond that. But that thing is for the larger people that, you know, there and this whole, but I'm just like my husband. I'm just that very simple, but maybe not down to earth anymore," she said.

Shalini said there is a person that she wears for the outside world, but in the heart she is a simple girl.

Talking about how she doesn't get affected if someone says negative things about her and she stays calm and positive. Shalini says she has worked on herself over the years to not get affected.

"I'm just him, but wrapped in all the finery. And, also, not talking about other people is also why I'm so self-absorbed in many ways. I just want to focus on myself. And many years ago, like, you know, when I was growing up and if I felt jealous of someone, then I would read a lot. And they said that, like, I used to feel jealous.

Of course, the jealousy is a very normal thing. You feel jealous of people who are more beautiful than you or more successful, or it could be anything or better than sport. So I would read these books, and it said that if you're jealous of someone, you actually want to be like them. So if I were to say jealous of a beautiful actress or jealous of someone who is very successful, I would try to pin point what I was jealous of in them and then inculcate that quality in me rather than just leaving that feeling of being. So over the years, I've just like, okay.

If I see someone's and instead of feeling happy for them, do I feel jealous of them? It's like, okay. I'm jealous of her beauty. Maybe I need to, like, work out a little bit more or maybe work on my speech or my or I'm jealous of her acting or I'm jealous of her success in the art field, then I would not really, like, concentrate on that person. I will concentrate on the lack in me. And many people say I'm a little hard on myself, but that's who I am. I can't change who I am, and it keeps me functioning," she says.

When we told Shalini that Maheep Kapoor in Money Control's interview she had called Passi unique and one of a kind, meant for shows like this, she burst out in laughter and said all were intrigued by her style and wouldn't want to miss any of her moments, and she was just being herself.

"I think that sometimes, like, it's like the cameras would stop, like, the shooting would be over, and then they're like, Oh, gosh, you're doing this. We have to get this on. I was like, like, guys, just stop. Like, you know so, like, you're actually, whatever, like, that big thing, that bird, I'm actually adjusting because it's actually, I'm like, when you're painting, the lines are supposed to go into the work. It is like a rule in painting that the line should be so I'm like, This is one not even on the shot. Almost all the lines are not even on, like, I didn't know that they're shooting that, and they just they're like, You were fab," she laughed.

Shalini said everybody was just amazed by her and at one time they felt that the camera should just be left on so that they didn't miss any of the 'Shalini Moments.'

"Every time something would happen, I would be sitting poisely, and then suddenly a mosquito would come, and I'd be like, Oh my god. But it'll be like, full drama. I would give, like, where? He said we have to just leave the camera here. We don't need anything else," she ended.

Shalini, along with her husband Sanjay Passi and son Rohan, live in a luxurious 20,000-square-foot bungalow in Delhi’s upscale Golf Links area.

The stunning home has 14 rooms, all of which showcase Shalini's impressive art collection. The home was also shown in the Netflix show as well.
