Shakti Arora, who had been a part of the show for over a year, expressed his shock at the decision, especially given the show's high TRP ratings. "It was unexpected because we were getting amazing TRPs. Getting 2.1 TRP during World Cup season isn’t a joke and no producer would think of taking a leap at such a junction. But whatever the call the channel had; they only know it," he said.

Despite the surprise, Shakti revealed that he had received a hint about his exit from external sources about one and a half months prior to the official announcement.

This early indication allowed him to mentally prepare for the departure, although he did try to find a way to stay on the show.

Reflecting on his time on the show, Shakti shared that the experience was like a dream come true. "With GHKPM, we were on the top for three months from October 2023 to January 2024. And even when I said goodbye, we were at number 1. It was like winning the world cup for me," he remarked.

The actor highlighted the difficulty of saying goodbye, noting that it didn't sink in until the very last shot. "Till the last day and last shot, it wasn’t sinking in that the show was ending for me. When that moment finally came, a hollowness seeped in that ‘oh, it’s the last day, what next?’ For the next 5 days, I was just sleeping and taking out my tiredness."

Regarding his future plans, Shakti shared that he usually starts manifesting about his next project after leaving a show. However, this time he is taking a different approach. "Now, I don’t want to fathom what I want to do. I want God to show me what he wants to give me. Let life be a surprise," he stated.

When asked about potential Bollywood aspirations, Shakti was candid about his ambitions but emphasized the importance of meaningful opportunities. "Obviously, every actor who comes in the industry wants to be a film actor. But it’s about getting opportunities, and if you get that, does it give you creative satisfaction, adds to your image and market value. If it isn’t happening, it’s not worth taking."

Despite receiving offers from films and OTT platforms, Shakti admitted that he turned them down as they did not align with his career goals. "I did get them but those offers were such that I knew they won’t benefit my career at all. So, I didn’t want to disappoint my audience," he explained. This decision reflects his commitment to maintaining the quality and integrity of his work.

Shakti's departure from Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein marks the end of a significant chapter in his career, but it also opens up new possibilities. As he takes time to rest and reflect, fans eagerly await his next move, trusting that whatever it is, it will be worth the wait.
