Rapper Sean Diddy Combs seems not to be getting bail anytime soon. He was denied bail in a new ruling on Monday, August 4, for the fifth time. He has been held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Centre since his September 2024 arrest.
According to the court documents obtained by People, Judge Arun Subramanian wrote that the court must "Find by clear and convincing evidence that the person is not likely to flee or pose a danger to the safety of any other person or the community if released.”
The judge also claimed that Diddy posed a risk of "flight or danger." The judge further noted that only exceptional reasons would be required to warrant Diddy’s release.
The judge elaborated that Diddy will be granted bail in cases where the defendant poses no risk of flight or danger, and unique circumstances such as advanced age and serious medical conditions that the MDC might not be able to address would counsel for release.
Judge Subramanian concluded that Combs "fails to satisfy his burden to demonstrate an entitlement to release."

The court’s latest ruling came just a few days after Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Virginia "Gina" Huynh, who was referred to as "Victim-3" in his indictment, wrote a letter to a New York judge asking for him to be released on bail.
Sean Diddy will be sentenced on October 3 for his conviction of transportation to engage in prostitution. Till then, the rapper has to spend more than a year in jail, which will be credited to his ultimate sentence. Sean Diddy Combs faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
