The cinematic juggernaut that is Saiyaara continues to gather momentum as it storms through the Indian box office.
Directed by Mohit Suri and starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the romantic drama is proving that a compelling story, soulful music, and sincere performances can indeed triumph over star power and high-budget spectacles.
Now five days into its theatrical run, Saiyaara is showing no signs of slowing. According to Sacnilk, the film collected an impressive Rs 25 crore on Tuesday, taking its cumulative domestic total to Rs 132.25 crore.
Notably, this figure surpasses its already strong opening day collection of Rs 21.5 crore—a rare feat, especially for weekday business. With a recorded 46.39% Hindi occupancy on Tuesday, the film's strong word-of-mouth is clearly translating into consistent footfalls.
With these figures, Saiyaara has now outperformed the total India collections of big-ticket films like Salman Khan’s Sikandar (Rs 110.1 crore) and Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force (Rs 112.75 crore). It is now within striking distance of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which had ended its theatrical run at Rs 153.55 crore.
At its heart, Saiyaara tells the story of Krish Kapoor (played by Ahaan Panday), an aspiring musician, and Vaani (Aneet Padda), a reticent journalist. The narrative blends music, romance, and melancholy in a fashion reminiscent of Suri’s earlier successes such as Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain.
A huge contributor to the film’s resonance has been its music—especially the title track sung by Faheem Abdullah, which has achieved the rare honour of breaking into Spotify’s Global Top 50 chart.
The film’s popularity has also been fuelled by widespread appreciation from Bollywood celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Ranveer Singh, all of whom took to social media to express their admiration.
Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai summed up the film’s impact aptly, “When a new star-cast film creates a wave at the box office, it sends us a clear message… no money spent on stars’ whims—no extra spend on marketing stunts."
As Saiyaara inches closer to the Rs 150 crore milestone, it’s not just a success story—it’s a statement.
