Saiyaara's overwhelming success has made it the biggest Bollywood blockbuster of 2025 thus far, and Aneet Padda is currently enjoying the limelight.
Her captivating on-screen persona and innate charm have garnered a lot of praise, but they have also fuelled online discussions about whether she really is an outsider making a breakthrough or if there is more to her industry debut than first meets the eye.
Since her appearance in the film, social media has been abuzz with speculation. A viral Reddit post questioned her journey, asking, "Just curious to know if she is really an outsider or just like Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and others there is another side to it. She is just 22 from Punjab and already got so many ads as main lead—Paytm, Nescafe, Cadbury, Maggi etc. Normally outsiders start with Santoor mom or some detergent ad… She also got movie with Kajol and a series on Prime where she got to sing her own composed song... 3-deal movie contract with YRF… Is this a fairy tale come true as I have not seen many new talent getting such an opportunity…”
The post triggered a flood of reactions. One aspiring actor wrote, "I’ve been in Mumbai for 2 years now… if you don’t have some kind of connection or visibility, it’s nearly impossible to even get in the room… luck isn’t random here. It usually comes from being around the industry."
Others defended Aneet’s journey, with one user stating, “She seems to have worked her way up. Something which people like Ayushmann and Sushant did before their movie debut.”
Another added, "Everything aside it was really refreshing to see a new face with no surgeries or Botox, very natural."
However, some questioned her background after a user posted alleged details of Pentacle Films Pvt Ltd—suggesting ties to Ravijeet Col Ajit Padda and Binny Ajit Padda.

Still, Aneet’s prior work in Big Girls Don’t Cry and Salaam Venky continues to win her praise. As one fan summed it up, "She wasn’t that great in Saiyaara, but so sweet… But watch Big Girls Don't Cry. I was really surprised. Mohit Suri actually diminished her talent."
Whether outsider or not, Aneet Padda has clearly struck a chord—and the industry will be watching what she does next.
