The Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the YouTuber in question, following a complaint filed by Sai Dharam Tej. The actor expressed his outrage on 'X', tagging the chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of both Telugu states, demanding swift action to prevent such incidents in the future.
Director General of Police Ravi Gupta confirmed the FIR, stating that the registration was initiated after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka responded to Sai Dharam Tej’s call for action. The police are actively identifying the individuals involved, and strict measures will be taken to ensure justice.
Sai Dharam Tej did not mince words when he described the incident. “This is beyond gruesome, disgusting, and scary. Monsters like these go unnoticed on the very much utilised social platform doing child abuse in the disguise of so-called Fun & Dank. Child safety is the need of the hour,” he wrote.
The actor’s call to action did not stop at condemning the YouTuber. He also urged parents to be cautious and aware of the dangers of sharing their children's images and videos online. “Use some sort of discretion when you post a video or photos of your kids as the world of social media has become ruthless and dangerous and is very difficult to control or stop these animals from becoming violent and dangerous,” he advised.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy thanked Sai Dharam Tej for bringing the incident to his attention. In a post on 'X', he stated, "Child safety is the utmost priority for our Govt. Will look into this incident and take appropriate action." Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the government's commitment to creating a safer online environment for children. "We will ensure that our government takes the necessary steps to prevent child abuse and exploitation on social media platforms. Let’s work together to create a safer online environment for our children," he wrote.
This incident has sparked a broader conversation about the responsibilities of social media platforms in preventing abuse and the role of content creators in setting ethical standards. It also highlights the need for greater awareness and education among parents regarding the potential dangers of sharing their children's lives online.
The DGP (Director General of Police) indicated that the government and police would intensify efforts to raise awareness about child safety and responsible social media use. This includes educating the public on the potential risks associated with sharing personal information and images online, as well as implementing stricter regulations to hold offenders accountable.
The involvement of high-profile individuals like Sai Dharam Tej and the swift response from government officials underscore the importance of community vigilance and proactive measures in combating online child abuse. As the investigation continues, it is hoped that this case will serve as a deterrent to others and promote a safer digital environment for children.
