The suspense surrounding the fifth leading lady in Yash’s much-awaited film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups has finally been lifted. It is now confirmed that rising star Rukmini Vasanth has been part of the project from the very beginning, with the makers intentionally keeping her involvement under wraps to surprise audiences.
According to industry insiders, Rukmini has already completed a significant portion of her shoot, sharing crucial sequences with Yash during the film’s Mumbai schedule. Only a few days of filming remain for her character before she wraps up work.
“The film was always envisioned as an ensemble drama with strong female characters, and Rukmini’s part is no different,” a source revealed. “She brings a sharp, well-defined presence to the narrative. The team wanted to maintain the suspense and reveal her participation at the right time, which is why her name was kept confidential until now.”
With this revelation, Rukmini joins an already impressive cast of powerhouse performers including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi. Each actress is said to play pivotal roles that add depth and dimension to Geetu Mohandas’ ambitious storytelling.
Currently being filmed in Mumbai, Toxic is slated for a global release on March 19, 2026. The film is particularly significant as it marks the first large-scale bilingual production shot simultaneously in Kannada and English. It will also be dubbed in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, underscoring the makers’ vision to present the story with a truly pan-Indian and global appeal.
