Rohit Shetty is gearing up for the highly anticipated sequel in his cop franchise, Singham Again, which is set to release this Diwali. At the recent screening of the re-release of Singham, the director discussed the concept of the upcoming film, highlighting its connections to the themes found in the Ramayana.
Discussing the journey that led to the creation of Singham Again, Rohit Shetty remarked, "We are going to take this story forward after Sooryavanshi during pandemic. So when we were working on how to take this forward, was the time when shitij Patwardhan came to me, who has also done part screenplay. He came with this idea. It was his story, not mine ki what if we do like that. He had a graph of characters like if we take this journey forward."
Further, while speaking about the inspiration for drawing parallels with the Ramayana in the cop drama, Rohit mentioned, "And what is interesting is that when you see the film, its the Ramayana. But we travelled all the way from Maharashtra to Sri Lanka. The locations are all places where the incidents have happened. Many of us know the story but not the actual location where it happened. So that is the unique point in this film."
