
Oscar-winning music director MM Keeravani is set to take centre stage at this year’s Republic Day celebrations, having been selected to compose a special rendition of Vande Mataram for the national parade.
The occasion is made even more meaningful as it coincides with the 150th anniversary of the iconic patriotic song, giving the moment both historical and emotional weight.
Sharing the news on X, MM Keeravani spoke candidly about what the opportunity means to him. He wrote, “On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the iconic song Vande Mataram, I feel deeply honoured and privileged to have composed the music for the 26th January Republic Day Parade, under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture. This grand presentation will be performed by 2,500 artists from across India. Stay tuned as we come together to celebrate the spirit of our nation —Vande Mataram.”

The performance, involving thousands of artists from across the country, is expected to be a vibrant celebration of India’s unity, diversity and cultural heritage.
Away from the national spotlight, MM Keeravani has also been making waves in the world of cinema.
The composer recently grabbed headlines following his appearance at the GlobeTrotter launch event for Varanasi, an upcoming big-budget film starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Speaking at the event, MM Keeravani confirmed that the long-awaited project is on track for a theatrical release in the summer of 2027, a revelation that sent fans into a frenzy.
Adding a lighter, more personal touch to the evening, MM Keeravani recreated a popular dialogue from Pokiri with his own twist, drawing loud cheers from the audience.

Held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, the GlobeTrotter event continues to trend online and is being streamed live on JioHotstar.
