It has been confirmed that Rishab Shetty, the creative force behind Kantara: Chapter 1, not only starred as the film's protagonist but also slid into the role of the Mysterious Old Man, a crucial figure who directs Berme's journey. This revelation has left fans both surprised and impressed.

Rishab, who is well-known for his traditional style of filmmaking, has already won praise for Kantara's compelling story and cultural realism.

However, he also personified the Old Man, a symbol and enigmatic figure, without first disclosing it to audiences. This enhances his creative vision in yet another intriguing way.

Many people missed this performance on their first viewing, which is evidence of how fully he absorbed the role.

As one fan put it: “The Mysterious Old Man may have been Berme’s guide in the story, but Rishab Shetty himself has emerged as a guiding force in contemporary Indian cinema.”

Since its October 2 publication, Kantara: Chapter 1 has grown to become a cultural phenomenon. The film, which is available in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English, has effortlessly transcended regional barriers and established a strong connection with viewers of all languages.

It is slowly approaching a whopping 700 crore at the box office worldwide, which is uncommon for films with such a strong local heritage.

On the other hand, in an open and heartfelt chat on The Right Angle, Season 2 with Sonal Kalra, Rishab shared that his name was not always the one fans know today.

“My real name is Prashant. My father suggested I change it to Rishab for better prospects in work,” he said. What makes the story even more special is that both names, Prashant and Rishab were chosen by his father, who happens to be an astrologer himself.
