Isaac Freeman III, a New York rapper known for superhits like Be Faithful, passed away while performing on stage at the age of 53.
He had experienced a medical emergency during a concert in Connecticut on August 30th and was rushed to the hospital but he tragically passed away on Saturday morning.. His tour manager, DJ Pure Cold, confirmed the sad news on social media, but the cause of death has not been disclosed.
The official statement shared by his family on his Instagram profile confirmed the news which read, "It is with profound sadness and very heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of the legendary and iconic Fatman Scoop. Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life," the statement read.
Fatman Scoop, a well-known hype man and media personality, gained fame with his 1999 song "Be Faithful." This track, featuring the Crooklyn Clan, used the same sample as Faith Evans' "Love Like This" and became a popular club anthem in New York City. After overcoming some sampling issues, "Be Faithful" was rereleased in 2003 and achieved global success.

In the statement issued by the family, Freeman was described as "He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength and courage."
"FatMan Scoop was known to the world as the undisputed voice of the club. His music made us dance and embrace life with positivity. His joy was infectious and the generosity he extended to all will be deeply missed but never forgotten," it continued.
The rapper is survived by brother, son and daughter.
