Following public outrage, a police complaint was filed against Ranveer Allahbadia and his co-panelists, including comedians Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. The FIR against them accuses them of promoting obscene and explicit content on the show. The complaint cites multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the newly implemented legal framework in India.

The Guwahati Crime Branch has taken charge of the investigation and previously questioned Ashish Chanchlani, one of the co-judges of the show. According to reports, Chanchlani cooperated with the authorities and may be called in for further questioning if required. Meanwhile, some of the other individuals named in the complaint have yet to respond to police notices and are expected to receive fresh summons soon.

Ranveer Allahbadia, who was among the main figures in the controversy, appeared before the Assam Police on Friday for questioning. Officials have stated that further details of the investigation are awaited.

In light of the backlash, Ranveer issued a public apology through a video statement. He admitted that his remarks were inappropriate and acknowledged that they were neither funny nor acceptable. He further stated that comedy is not his forte and clarified that this is not how he wants to use his platform. Without offering any justification, he expressed regret for his comments.

The controversy has ignited debates on the role and responsibility of influencers in digital content creation. While some have accepted Ranveer’s apology, others believe that stricter actions should be taken against those promoting insensitive content. Legal experts suggest that if proven guilty under the sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the accused individuals could face penalties, including fines and possible jail time.

As the investigation unfolds, it remains to be seen how this incident will impact the careers of those involved and whether digital content creators will exercise more caution in their discussions on public platforms.
