Rajkummar Rao may have made headlines with Stree 2, becoming one of the few Bollywood actors with a film crossing the Rs 600 crore mark, but he clarified in a recent interview that this success hasn’t turned him into a billionaire. Speaking on a YouTube channel, the actor candidly shared that his financial situation isn’t as lavish as some may assume.

“Yaar, honestly itna paisa hai nahi jitna logon ko lagta hoga ki ye toh bhai Rs 100 crore. Itna nahi hai. Bhai, EMI chal rahi hai. Matlab ghar liya hua hai, uski EMI hai achhi khasi,” Rajkummar explained, revealing that while he is financially stable, he is far from being able to make extravagant purchases without thought. He added, “Aisa bhi nahi ki showroom mein ja ke, ‘Kitne ki hai wo?’ ‘Sir, Rs 6 crore ki.’ ‘De de.’”

Rajkummar emphasized that people often have exaggerated perceptions about the wealth of Bollywood actors. Despite his box office success with films like Stree 2 and Srikanth, he still has major expenses, including a hefty EMI for his home. He admitted that he’s far from being able to walk into a showroom and buy a Rs 6 crore car on a whim. However, when asked about buying a car worth Rs 50 lakh, Rajkummar jokingly said, “ Rs 50 lakh ki, de de, but discussion hoga uspe. Ek second, le toh sakte hain, le le kya?” He went on to mention that he could more comfortably buy a car worth Rs 20 lakh without much stress.

The actor also touched upon the psychological impact of receiving too much money overnight, saying it can disrupt an actor’s mindset. Rajkummar noted that it’s important for actors to stay grounded and manage their earnings wisely.

Following the success of Stree 2, Rajkummar’s latest release, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, premiered over the weekend. The film, which stars Triptii Dimri, Vijay Raaz, and Mallika Sherawat, tells the story of a newly married couple whose honeymoon tape gets stolen. Produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, the film is performing steadily at the box office.
