Rajinikanth’s Iconic ‘Baashha’ set for a grand 4K re-release to celebrate 30 years

Tamil cinema’s legendary film Baashha, starring the one and only Superstar Rajinikanth, is all set to make a grand return to the big screen in a remastered 4K format. This re-release comes as a special tribute to celebrate 30 glorious years of the film that revolutionized the action genre in Indian cinema.
Directed by Suresh Krissna and produced by R M Veerappan under the banner of Sathya Movies, Baashha originally hit theaters in 1995 and became an industry-defining blockbuster. The film is being re-released not just to mark its 30th anniversary but also to commemorate the 60th year of Sathya Movies and Superstar Rajinikanth’s incredible 50-year journey in the film industry
What makes this re-release even more exciting is the technical brilliance that has been incorporated into the remastered version. The film will now be presented in 4K resolution, along with Dolby Atmos surround sound, offering audiences an unparalleled cinematic experience. Fans who once witnessed Rajini’s magic on screen in the 90s can now relive those moments in stunning visual and audio quality, while a new generation of viewers will get to experience the phenomenon that is Baashha.
A landmark film in Rajinikanth’s career,Baashha follows the story of an auto driver, Manikkam, who hides a dark past as a fearsome underworld don. With its gripping narrative, powerful action sequences, and Rajinikanth’s signature style, the film redefined commercial cinema. R M Veerappan’s son, Thangaraj Veerappan, will be overseeing the re-release under Sathya Movies. While the official release date is yet to be announced, sources indicate that it will be unveiled soon.
